Daniel Skora
Here is Daniel’s story: “One day, in July 2008, I woke up and I was unable to use my right arm. I went to the doctor, and they weren’t sure what was wrong. A week later, I woke up and I was barely able to move my body. I had lost the ability to walk, and I couldn’t crawl upstairs. I went to Riley Hospital a few weeks later for the first time. I was tested for just about every disease and problem in the book. I saw a rheumatologist and a neurologist there many times. Doctors determined that what I had was “muscle memory loss.” I endured nine months of physical therapy in order to walk again, and by the tenth month I was able to run again. I have been healthy since April of 2009.”
He loves soccer, hockey, and relaxing with friends and his favorite sweet treats are churros. He is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and a fun fact about Daniel is when he was in college, he attended Dance Marathons in four different states!
Throughout his time as a part of the PUDM family, he has decided his favorite memories include spending time with other families and all of the side events like the Riley Kid birthday party, dodgeball, and soccer!
