As a CM and team captain, I felt myself consistently being drawn to everything that PUDM was doing as an organization. After attending many events throughout my freshman and first semester sophomore year, I realized that I wanted to be more involved and use my passion in a positive light. I have a love for helping people and tend to put others before myself. In this organization, you work hard for those who are unable to do so, in hopes of finding a better tomorrow for kids fighting life-threatening illnesses.

What are your main duties as an exec?
As an exec, my main role is to build the connection bridge between PUDM and the FSCL community here on campus. As a member of Delta Gamma, I was able to use my connections to recruit members within the FSCL community as team captains for their houses. Additionally, I work alongside the Participant Relations exec to strengthen the team captain program by building personal relationships with them. I also plan competitive style events throughout the year for Greek houses to compete in, for prizes. Overall, my role is to increase the PUDM engagement within the FSCL community!
I want to work as a pediatric nurse in the NICU or CVICU when I graduate so the mission of PUDM means so much to me!! I’m very passionate about supporting the kiddos in the hospital who deserve to be kids. This is my 7th year fundraising for Riley Hospital for Children, and I wanted to be more involved for my last year in PUDM. I wanted to be on exec to have a greater impact in spreading the mission to change kids’ health, grow my leadership skills, and to dedicate my time to help plan the marathon that so many Riley kids look forward to and so many Purdue students are impacted by!

My role is to be the communication between PUDM and our lovely participants!! Our participants are the lowest level of involvement in PUDM in that they only have to commit to coming to the marathon on November 14th! As the participant relations exec, I spend my time working with team captains to recruit participants, sharing PUDM with student clubs to get them involved, and finding creative ways to make our participants feel so valued and loved by our organization!
I enjoyed my time as a CM so much in the fall and wanted to bring my passion for healthcare together with my love for PUDM so I applied for the exec board!

What are your main duties as an exec?
I do all things recruitment! Whether it be helping stewarding chamber to recruit CMs, team caps, or participants! I support our members and lead with a recruitment happens everywhere mindset!
I was looking for places to take on a leadership role and develop my own communication and teamwork skills. PUDM seemed like a really good choice to me, because all the work I’d do would be for a cause I care about which is really important factor for my long term motivation.

What is your favorite PUDM memory?
My favorite PUDM memory is when I was at a bucket Blitz, our recurring event where we stand outside of businesses and ask patrons to donate to Riley, with Lucy, the DEI Executive, Alena the DEI chair, and Cat the Outreach Executive. We were outside out of a protein shake shop in West Lafayette and we were trying our best to stop people but it was super cold and not that many were people coming by the shop. We started waving at cars to get them to stop and donate and we ended up making a lot of money and having a lot of fun.
