John Romine

“It only takes one.” -John Romine

John Romine was kind, strong, generous, and goofy. During his freshman year at Purdue, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was treated for three years at Riley Hospital for Children. While at Purdue, he was studying Agricultural Economics and was the Vice President of Recruitment for Farmhouse Fraternity. During his senior year, he found a bone marrow match; however, he was not healthy enough to receive it. PUDM, Farmhouse, and John’s family continue to advocate for the National Marrow Donor Program, formally known as Be the Match, to help others possibly receive the lifesaving treatment they need. Farmhouse continues to honor John’s legacy by shaving their heads at the marathon every year. John will always be known as an incredible role model and inspiration for others. #RomineStrong
